Howdy Folks,

This Sunday at Hampstead UMC promises to be one of those joyful, Spirit-filled mornings that reminds us what church is really about — worship, community, grace, and people of all ages growing together in faith.

As we gather for Trinity Sunday, we’ll celebrate one of the great mysteries of the Christian faith. But rather than trying to intellectually define the Trinity or explain a doctrine that Christians have wrestled with for centuries, we’re simply going to experience it — through worship, relationship, community, love, welcome, and shared life together. The Trinity reminds us that at the very heart of God is relationship, and this Sunday’s service will be filled with glimpses of that living connection.

We’ll hear a special message from Glen Pettygrove and share a video highlighting this year’s Connect Club ministry — a partnership that has blessed children and families throughout the school year through laughter, learning, movement, care, and relationships. Connect Club has become one of the clearest reminders that ministry is often built one conversation, one snack, one game, and one act of kindness at a time. We are deeply grateful to every volunteer who has helped make Wednesdays such a meaningful part of our church’s life.

This Sunday’s sermon will reflect on what it means to belong to one another in the body of Christ — not simply as individuals attending the same church, but as people being shaped by grace together. Sometimes the Spirit works through big moments, but often resurrection life grows quietly through relationships, encouragement, shared meals, faithful volunteers, and ordinary acts of love that slowly become holy.

We’ll also celebrate the baptism of a child and welcome a new member into the life of the church — visible reminders that God continues to call people into this community and that the story of the church is still being written.

Adding to the joy of the morning, the congregation will once again choose four favorite hymns during worship. These hymn-sing Sundays have become a beautiful reminder that the songs of faith carry memory, comfort, hope, and testimony across generations.

A few upcoming reminders:

• Vacation Bible School is coming soon!
Please make plans to join us for VBS as we continue helping children discover God’s love in engaging and creative ways. Be watching for volunteer opportunities and registration information.

VBS Dates: July 27-31

• This weekend, many from our area churches will gather for a special event with Elaine Heath at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church. See the flyer below.  Dr. Heath’s ministry and teaching around evangelism, spiritual renewal, and compassionate Christian community have inspired churches across the country. If you have been considering attending, we encourage you to do so.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we worship together, sing together, welcome new people into the family of faith, and continue learning what resurrection life looks like in everyday community.

Grace and peace,
Pastor Debbie
